Term time and holidays are two different contracts
An education site has a rhythm nothing else has. During term, cleaning has to happen in narrow windows around teaching, after-school care and community hire, and it has to leave the site safe for children the next morning. During holidays, the site empties and the work that cannot be done in a forty-minute window becomes possible.
We scope those separately. The term-time round covers classrooms, corridors, amenities, staff rooms, canteens and high-touch points on a daily or near-daily cycle. The holiday program covers what needs the building empty — carpet extraction, hard-floor strip and seal, high dusting, window cleaning, furniture moves and detailed washroom work.
- Term time — classrooms, amenities, corridors, staff areas, high-touch points
- School holidays — floor strip and seal, carpet extraction, high dusting, windows
- Before term starts — full reset of every learning space
- After events and community hire — hall and amenity turnarounds
Working safely around students
Child safety governs everything on an education site, and it is not negotiable. Staff working on school sites are police-checked, and Working With Children Check requirements are met for the site and role concerned. Chemicals are stored secured and out of reach, equipment is never left unattended in a space students can enter, and wet floors are signed and worked so that a corridor is not left as a hazard between periods.
Practically, this also means being predictable. The same team on the same site learns which doors are alarmed, which rooms are booked after hours, and which spaces need to be finished before after-school care arrives.
The spaces that decide how a school feels
Amenities are what parents hear about. Student washrooms take heavy, concentrated use in short bursts and need daily attention with consumables checked and restocked, not just at the end of the day.
Canteens and food preparation areas run to their own standard and are scoped with that in mind. Halls, libraries and gyms take event and community-hire use that falls outside the ordinary round, and are best handled as scheduled turnarounds rather than absorbed silently into the daily clean.
